Mining

The Client

Huntly Bauxite Mine is the world’s second largest bauxite mine, supplying ore to Alcoa’s Pinjarra and Kwinana alumina refineries.

It was established in 1976 and is located east of North Dandalup, in Western Australia (WA).

The Challenge

Alcoa was looking for a solution to clean their workshops. They needed a new system that would enable them to minimise labour and have technology available, that would 100% eliminate the build up of dust and debris in their workshop.

They had for some years, used a budget manual sweeper, but this system was inadequate for their needs.

They asked ASC’s Ross Sheehan for a solution.

The Result

Alcoa purchased a heavy duty, ASC M3 sweeper for the sweeping of their internal and external floors and a heavy duty, ASC Eureka E 83 floor scrubber, for washing clean their internal workshop floors.

Combined, this purchase resulted in a labour saving of more than 400%, whilst delivering a clean and dust free workshop floor.
