City of Gosnell Bush Fire Brigade

Client introduction
City of Gosnells Bush Fire Brigade is made up of approximately 60 volunteers, who respond to emergencies every year, from their Beckenham station. They respond to bushfires, assist other emergency services, conduct reduction burns, attend school and community groups, and provide information at community events.
The Challenge
Andrew is one of the longest serving volunteers and had purchased a sweeping machine from ASC, for his day job, back in 2019.
When the Bush Fire Brigade started looking for machines to assist the volunteers in keeping the station cleaner, quickly, he contacted ASC WA’s Area Manager, Ross Sheehan.
They have a large workshop and vehicle storage area. The floor is sealed with a non-slip product. Coming in from the surrounding bush is a variety of leaves, gumnuts, and sticks. The vehicles also bring debris in with the trye tread and mudguards.
The Solution
Ross emailed the best options for the site, following a visit to the station, where the volunteers described what they wanted to achieve.
One was to clean up the foaming product and fire retardant propelled for use in wildfires.
Ross arranged a demonstration of the ASC MEP push sweeper, with dust control.
It works very quickly and has no battery, so is ideal for the site.
He also showed them the ASC E51 walk behind floor scrubber.
The E 51 did a good job of handling the non-slip floor and vacuumed it well.
The Result
Andrew took the quotes to the Bush Fire Brigade’s Board meeting.
It was discussed and a couple of weeks later, the order was placed for an ASC MEP and an E51.
Ross delivered both machines and conducted training with the volunteers.
