CS-Qube Mt Keith Mine Site’s Dusty Conditions
Client introduction:
Qube Bulk is located in the remote mining town of Leinster, in the northern Goldfields of Western Australia. They have a contract with BHP, to assist with providing bulk and general handling facilities around the nickel mine.
Qube Bulk operate a large range of heavy vehicles and have a larger service workshop, to ensure their fleet of machines and vehicles are able to cope with the harsh environment of the WA desert.
The Challenge:
Qube Bulk run a fleet of road trains and have a long workshop, nearly 100m long. A huge amount of dirt and debris gets dragged into the workshop via wheels/mudguards and the winds.
Being on a remote desert mine site, there is a high level of importance placed on environmental control.
Darryl is the Maintenance Supervisor at Mt Keith and contacted ASC’s WA Area Manager, Ross Sheehan, to discuss the options available out of Perth.
With confidence in the ASC Eureka M1 sweeper, Ross recommended this as the site’s best solution.
This machine would be able to handle the dusty conditions of the Qube Bulk site.
The Solution:
Darryl carried out his due diligence in looking at several other brands on the market.
He had decided on the ASC Eureka M1 sweeper.
It was a stock item out of Perth, it had a quality, zero maintenance battery and most importantly, it came on a pallet ready for delivery to site on the next available truck.
The Result:
Darryl had a truck ready to leave Perth. The ASC M1 was loaded onto a vehicle, so it could make the journey 10.5 hours out to Leinster.
Upon arrival, it was ready to be inducted onto the site and also for the tough job ahead.
