Mining

The Client

Fenix Resources is a premier iron ore producer in Western Australia’s Mid-West, with the Iron Ridge Mine delivering high-grade ore since December 2020.
They ship their iron ore from the Port of Geraldton.

The Challenge

Fenix Resources has a large footprint at the Port of Geraldton.

Iron ore is shipped in vast quantities via truck and conveyor belt. The port has large holding sheds and an extensive array of road networks that need to be swept on a daily basis.

The company sought to invest in a sweeper that was designed to sweep iron ore and be proven not to disperse any dust while sweeping.

The machine that was recommended for the site was the ASC M8, which is both proven and designed to work in very heavy mine dust concentrations.

The Result

An order for an ASC Eureka M8 Diesel was placed, as the solution for their sweeping challenges.

The ASC M8 was optioned with a fully enclosed air-conditioned cabin and an extendable side broom.

ASC’s Scott Campbell attended the site to induct Fenix’s operators on how to use the machine.
