Junction Park State School Enjoys 12x More Efficient Labour Utilization With ASC
Junction Park State School is one of Brisbane’s oldest schools established way back in 1888.
The school looked to optimize its cleaning regime. It employed many cleaners using traditional cleaning methods to clean the school. The equipment arsenal included the traditional use of mops and buckets, hand brooms, vacuum cleaners, burnishers and petrol blowers.
The school invested a lot of time looking to update these old practices to make greater use of their existing labour while at the same time improving the quality of the schools clean.
The areas of particular concern were;
- 1. the play areas which was grassed with artificial turf
- 2. Grounds
- 3. Assembly areas
- 4. External paving areas
- 5. Basketball Court
- 6. Canteen areas
ASC Rafael Rodrigues guided the schools management team on how best to achieve this result.
The school ultimately invested in a ASC Eureka E 50 low maintenance floor scrubber & a ASC MEP manual floor sweeper. The scrubber was purchased to replace the old mop and bucket clean and make the cleaning time (labour utilization) 12 times more efficient.
The purchase of the ASC MEP sweeper meant that they did not need to use a noisy blower to clean and the debris collected in an efficient manner.
The school floors now look much cleaner. There are no more stains on the tiles and the red coated floors are dry where they were left wet before using mops and buckets. This has eliminated possible slippage issues and made the whole environment more pleasant to use and walk on.
The school also added sanitizers in the water scrubber to make the floors germ free which is a big win in terms of sanitizing high use areas to make germs a thing of the past.
