No More Manual Cleaning For Lithgow Council’s Footpaths And Roads
Government . Municipalities & Local Councils . Open Spaces & Car Parks
Lithgow Council is located on the western ramparts of the Blue Mountains, 140 km west of Sydney.
The Challenge
Lithgow Council recently investigated their options of mechanizing their CBD and footpath cleaning.
They had traditionally used manual labour to clean these areas. They used traditional method of men walking around with petrol blowers and hand brooms.
The Solution
After researching many sweepers on the market the council decided to invest in a ASC D 850 sweeper. They wanted to make sure that they got a super reliable sweeper. They not only spent time looking at respective drive trains on various sweepers but they also contacted local councils that had been using sweepers for more than 10 years and were satisfied with the endorsements the local councils gave ASC sweepers.
The Result
They took delivery of a base ASC D850 sweeper. The council employed one new sweeper driver to use the machine and now the street cleaning is achieved in a fraction of the time and the residents of Lithgow can now enjoy clean footpaths and mall areas on a daily basis.
