Magnetic Island Takes Delivery Of An EX-Fleet ASC M6 Diesel Sweeper

The Challenge

Townsville Council had recently made inquiries to invest in a highly maneuverable sweeper that could be used on Magnetics Island.

Magnetic Island is an island 8 kilometers offshore from the city of Townsville, Queensland, Australia. This 52 km² mountainous island in Cleveland Bay has effectively become a suburb of Townsville.

Their challenge was that they had a tight budget and they needed a machine that was compact, easy to use, service and swept well without creating dust.

The Solution

Townsville Council elected to invest in a Ex Fleet ASC M6 Diesel sweeper.

The machine proved more than capable of doing the task. Running a proven Kubota / Easton drive train really made things easier as parts required to maintain the machine were available locally from local suppliers.

The Result

The 2100 local residents can now reap the benefits of a daily swept roads and mall areas.

ASC’s Rafael Rodrigues recently went to the Townsville Council depot to induct the Councils operators on how to use & maintain the ASC M6 sweeper.

Townsville Council reaped significant financial benefits by investing in a ex fleet ASC approved sweeper to the delight of the operators.
