Mount Isa Mines Limited (“MIM”) operates the Mount Isa copper, lead, zinc, and silver mines near Mount Isa, Queensland, Australia, as part of the Glencore group.
They operate two separate mining and processing streams, copper and zinc, to deliver natural resources that have enduring roles in society.
MIM has the largest zinc resource base and the biggest underground network of mines in the world, which provide work for more than 3,200 employees and contractors.
Recently Mount Isa Mines invested in another D6000 sweeper. It is used to sweep the huge array of roadways and keep the lead and copper dust levels to a minimum.
MIM adheres to very strict EPA rules ensuring air quality and employees’ health is a high priority. It also aims to minimize its environmental blueprint on the city of Mount Isa by keeping its roads dust-free with the ASC D6000 SWEEPER.
The machine works 9 plus hours per day and, over a period of 8 years, sweeps over 1 Million sweeper kilometers.
