New West Foods

Client Introduction

New West Foods have been supplying the Perth catering and take away market since 1988, with frozen foods, cooking oils and by products of the food industry.

They have joined the NAFDA as their business grew, with their expansion of food products. In 2021 they amalgamated with Elite Food Co and moved into a larger, new premises. They now have a drive in freezer, cool rooms and dry goods areas.

The Challenge

Managing Director of New West Foods, Damon Venoutsos, had seen ASC on social media.

He was intrigued enough to press the button, to find out more about the advert.

ASC WA’s Area Manager, Ross Sheehan, contacted Damon to discuss his requirements and to help solve his site’s needs. As a large food distributor there is a lot of forklift, truck, and pallet trolly movements, add to this a lot of wood chips from the continuous movement of pallets.

Damon and his team have been renting a floor scrubber to clean the floors once per month, but this machine was not the ideal machine for the job. The site really needed an effective sweeper to collect the dust and wood chips.

A demonstration of the ASC Eureka MEP push sweeper was arranged.

The Solution

Damon was immediately impressed by the strong build of the sweeper. He was even more impressed that it has a high-quality dust filter and no need for a battery or anyone being responsible for charging the machine.

The ASC Eureka MEP was demonstrated in the dry area with pallet racking, then onto the chiller/freezer rooms.

The control of dust particles was important in the freezer, to decrease the dust build up in the chiller filters.

The MEP collected all the dust and the wood chips in all three areas, with ease.

The Result:

Damon placed the order on the spot.

Malaga is only 15 minutes from the ASC Perth warehouse and the sweeper was delivered the following day.

The delivery included training of staff and electronic copies of the spare parts manual, as well as a maintenance checklist.
