Southern Material Recovery Facility
The Client
Southern Material Recovery Facility (SRWRA) is based in Seaford Heights, South Australia.
The Southern Recycling Centre (SRC) plays a key role in the diversion of waste from landfill. Municipal solid waste from the kerbside rubbish bin is processed, to extract organic material from the waste stream which is then pasteurised, screened and used as part of landfill capping. This ensures maximum diversion of organic material from landfill.
The Challenge
Plant Manager, Michel Semaan, asked ASC’s Adelaide based Representative Like Skrinjaric for a solution to clean their facility.
The company faced a serious challenge with their outdoor areas and driveways being constantly polluted by debris, broken glass and plastic.
Their indoor areas were affected by the same pollutants (rubber dust and environmental dust).
They required a sweeping machine large enough to cater for both indoor and outdoor cleaning, with an efficient capability of handling heavy dust pollution.
Emphasis was given to find a machine with the most advanced dust-control system available and with minimum projected ongoing maintenance for the dust-control system and the vehicle itself.
The Solution
SRWRA decided to invest in a heavy duty, ASC M6 Diesel sweeper, with a maintenance free baghouse cloth dust-control vacuum system.
The company also had a need for additional smaller sweeping machines, for their indoor areas.
The SRWRA Management has placed an additional order for an ASC M1battery driven walk behind dust-control sweeper and a further two ASC EUREKA MEP pedestrian dust-control sweepers.
