United Wambo Hunter Valley

The Client

United Wambo is located 16 kilometres west of Singleton in the Hunter Valley, New South Wales. The company is a 50:50 joint venture between United Collieries (Glencore and CFMMEU) and Wambo Coal (Peabody).

The Challenge

The group had a large stores / distribution area that is epoxy painted.

Naturally, a lot of dust builds up in these areas, due to the nature and sheer volume of stock that rotates in this area.

The company also had issues with external dust that blew in from the surrounding areas.

United Wombo were looking for a low maintenance solution to sweep all the dust off their floors.

Dust build-up not only affects the cleanliness of the stock that is put on the shelving racks but also affects the companies OH & S policies.

The Solution

The company invested in the ASC M1, heavy duty dustless walk behind sweeper. The floor is now swept in 20% of the time, compared to manually sweeping and is 100% dust free.
